ISOLATION – when you have entered Canada and have worked at least 1-day and contract COVID.
QUARANTINE – any worker entering Canada that is unvaccinated must quarantine. Vaccinated workers may need to quarantine if they are chosen for an arrival test. Follow health measures.
Isolation – Vaccinated Workers
- Currently 10-days from date of exposure with symptoms due to congregate living conditions
- GI – gastrointestinal symptoms (48 hours symptom free)
- Regulator symptoms (24 hours symptom free)
- Fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, decrease in smell or taste
- Two or more of: runny nose or nasal congestion, headache, extreme fatigue, sore throat, muscles aches or joint pain, vomiting / diarrhea

Quarantine – Vaccinated
- May be randomly selected upon arrival
- Day 1 test
- May be administered at airport or take home
- Must wait until a negative test result is received before exiting quarantine
OR
- Exit after 14-days
- You may travel to your quarantine location

Quarantine – Unvaccinated
- No exemptions – Make an appointment prior to arrival
- Must take a day 1 test and day 8
- May be administered at airport (day 1) and day 8 will be a take home
- Take home test
- Only exit quarantine when you receive a negative day 8 test result or 14 days
- IF you test positive, you must isolate another 10 days from date of positive test
Quarantine – EXPECT A CALL / VISIT
- Expect a call or visit
- If workers were quarantined outside Windsor-Essex area, they must remain there until they receive results or a negative test result
WORKERS ARE NOT PERMITTED TO WORK DURING QUARANTINE
